La Nazarena is a Human Development Center founded in 2018 by the Sisters of Mary in one of the poorest areas of the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Here the people live in unstable conditions and have no access to basic services. Therefore, education, health, and work are the three pillars of our services. The individuals range from children as young as 45 days old to adults of any age.

How you can help with your donation
With 10 EUROS, a child can receive lunch and a snack for one month.
With 60 EUROS, a child can receive lunch, a snack, and school supplies for one month.
With 160 EUROS, a child can receive lunch, a snack, school supplies, and language, math, and computer classes for one month.
We offer the children and young people an education and a balanced diet. They receive classes in language, mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science, sports, and English, depending on the resources available, as well as workshops in vegetable growing and spiritual formation.
In terms of food, they receive lunch and a snack daily. The meals are varied to ensure they receive all the nutrients in a balanced way. We also work on instilling good habits, such as the consumption of fruits and vegetables at each meal. The commitment and enthusiasm of our team of professionals and volunteers is very strong. Thanks to the generosity of private donors and some companies, we have been able to keep the center alive and developing until now.
In the area of education, this year we incorporated the possibility for students over 18 years of age to prepare themselves in our center and take their last subjects in order to finish high school and have access to more promising possibilities for their future.
In the area of work, training courses are given in gastronomy, hairdressing, barbering, computer and programming, so that students can start their own businesses and gain access to decent employment. At present, a batch of 14 courses with a total of 210 students has been completed and another one is starting.
In the health area, La Nazarena has a group of volunteer medical professionals who carry out periodic check-ups and vaccination days. At the moment we are collecting money to buy vitamin supplements and medicines for our children, since due to poor nutrition and the release of gases from open dumps, most of the children suffer from respiratory infections and depressed immune systems.
In Florencio Varela, public schools were unable to hold classes in 2020 and 2021 due to Covid-19 restrictions and lack of equipment (computers and cell phones). In addition, these schools were already facing serious problems before the pandemic, such as poor curriculum, teachers‘ union strikes, overcrowded classrooms, high dropout rates, and lack of resources and equipment. As a result, children grow up in poorly maintained neighborhoods and are exposed to discrimination, gender inequality, and violence.
We have developed a new curriculum which promotes a good education and ensures equal access to mathematics, computers, language and literature, history, science, the arts, and social skills. We place great emphasis on computer courses as a solution to escape poverty and on horticulture programs to end hunger and malnutrition.
Thanks to this project, we will improve the quality of life and educational level of 300 families. In the long run, these families will contribute to a better society.
We also invite you to participate in „La Nazarena“ and thus pave the way for the future of disadvantaged children and young people. Our sincere thanks in advance.
